lt never ceases to amaze me how the Scandinavians are go spot on with their fashion sense and designs. Yes, | am probably sooo behind in discovering this brand but thought would share anyway.

l feel l have been very absorbed in Australian high fashion lately that l have forgotten about my love for `Street wear'. That was until l flicked through Cooler Magazine and Saw this amazing photo and fell in love with this brand CTRL.

Naturally I had to order some of this rad gear. | Can't wait till l receive my order. This is what I'm waiting for:

I think I'm in love with vertical stripes at the moment, having just painted Robio like that, these pants were a must. it'll be pretty funny to wear these while i'm working in the Fitzroy store!l yeeow_

George Barbier

I really love the Illustrations of George Barbier. One of the Great French Illustrators in the early 20th Century.
His work shows great flamboyant fashions from the times and are very inspiring to myself.
They way he Illustrates people is so elegant, it makes me wish to live in such a society!
When I was in Londons Portobello Market last I came across one of his lithographs and ummed an ahhed over it too long because when I went back to buy it the stall holders were gone! the only ones to have left early that day. I was so shattered but that will teach me.

Blythe Exhibition At Robio Official flyer

This Friday the 1st of May between 6 and 9 Robio is having an Exhibition that celebrates all things Blythe and the local girls that dedicate their time to making outfits, customise, take photos and Illustrate Blythe.
This is the official Flyer for the event , the photo is By Natasha from Pixel kitty and the flyer is designed by my partner in crime Tommie. I think it's an amazing flyer and it's sure to be a really equally amazing event!
I will be making punch (the non-alcoholic variety - your welcome to spike your own punch though) and cupcakes.
Even if your remotly interested in Blythe Dolls I think you should come down to Robio in Fitzroy to have a look at some of the beautiful works these girls have done.
Gina Garan will also be donating a photograph which will be given out as a door prize plus (fingers crossed) there will be some New Blythe dolls for sale and Auction at the event!

Bring your Camera as Gina Garan and Junie Moon want to show the Blythe world how Australians celebrate Blythe!

Never ending search

I seem to have such bad habits or luck (not sure which one) when it comes to wanting the things I can't easily find.

So my current search is for those amazingly sweet traditional greek slippers.
I don't know there real name and I don't know if there is anywhere in Melbourne or outside of Greece where you can buy them.
I don't even know why I didn't see them those many times I was in Greece!

A small capsule range by Earbats.
they are hooded scarves which are reversible and have a press stud so you can get crative with how you wrap it around yourself.
It's a good item for when its not cold enough to wear a jumper or layer it up!

A recent collaboration between POKETO, and super talented artists from Australia turned out one of the best Poketo wallet series ever!

I really loved Lilly Piri's representation of Australia. I like how it's the animals that tell the viewer straight away where they are are the kids in the picture are as sweet as pie!

I'm so happy that I managed to score the original drawing for the front of the wallet. It's really a very special drawing!

Today I bought a new Sugar mag Kimono outfit for my Princess a la mode Blythe 'Suki' and some zori sandals, both from Robio of course! I love the little white lace gloves the outfit came with.. so sweet!

At the start of this blog I showed some photos from my Womens wear collection, so now I have pulled out the Men's wear work. Well moodboard and final illustrations of the outfits

The 'collection' was a inspired by early horror and sci-fi movies such as Frankenstein, Forbidden planet and the Industrial age.
I put my mood board together using an old image of Paris back in the 1800's and bits and pieces from old Sci-fi movie posters to create the scene and time when guys might wear these kinds of clothes.

So life is kinda boring if you don't have anything to look forward to. Right now I have about 100 dreams and goals and things that I would love to call my own!

I am working hard toward the goal of getting a truly amazing vintage style bike (but it's brand new).
It's on the pricey side for a bike but it's the kind you keep for life, forever admiring at the simplicity but absolute style of it's design, and how can you resist this Hand made with love, imported all the way from Italy bike of yesteryear.

Being from today's times I feel my era has missed out on true style. I hate the look of cars today... so sleek and lacking personality and as for bikes.. well they all represent faster, harder, stronger types.. which really isn't me either. I just want a leisurely ride and I'm so happy I found it!
It is by Abici and I have it on lay-by from a new shop in Auburn Rd, Hawthorn, Melbourne called Scarlet Jones which is all about real French (not an Australians perspective on what France and French products are like), Italian and good quality products for the home. It's a really beautiful shop and I don't think there is anything quite like it in Melbourne.

So once I am done with saving up for the bike.... I'm going to have to save for that sweet sweet car... this is what I have in mind..

Oooh yeah the VW Karmann Ghia.... This car is amazing! One Day.... One day!

Princess a la mode

Little shelf.. I included the clock on the Alice ad for Patchwork on Central park. It was from a vintage clock that broke. It's so beautiful and intricate I couldn't not included it!

I love this photo because of the sticker on the computer. It's awesome and it's by Paul Shih and they are super spanking brand new from him! oh the emotion. You must check out his work. He has nailed the super Kawaii characters and his images are really hard to resist!

Organised chaos, Blythe and me

Today i thought I'd give you a peek into the organised chaotic world that is my studio/work bench. I bought a tiny shelf that fits perfectly all my little bits and pieces that make my work bench mine. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to Japanese toys and all those small vinyl toys that a lot of people don't seem to 'get it'. Vinyl toys are simply meant ot sit where you spend your time, inspire you and give your space a bit of life.. wherever that may be!
I think I really need a macro lens to properly capture the tinyness but I did my best without!

Being from Melbourne I have noticed a really really healthy attitude towards home grown fashions. Of course this doesn't apply to all Melbournians but certainly to the creative population.

I, myself am strongly an anti 'made in China', especially when it comes to fashion. I care and always look at where an item of clothing is made. It's not always an easy thing to avoid this day in age but when it comes to the local kids, 'Made in Melbourne... or even Australia' is something that matters to them.

So as part of this blog I'm going to feature some of these local heroes, keeping up these ethics and not letting our clothing and textile industry completely die out at the hands of China.

First Up....

This super happy couple have taken Melbourne by storm via N.T. and Brisvegas. You go to any exhibition opening, launch or party in Melbourne and these two are there socialising with the best of em.

Stocked around Australia and overseas, the label is cute, fun, quirky and absolutely wearable.
Their New collection is called 'Snakes and Ladders' and will be in stores in September... sheez thats only a day away!

It's the Lenko 2nd annual Art show with a doodle theme and if you want to enter you still have until the 20th of August as they have extended their deadline
